Zinpro Corporation Sponsors NAMI Minnesota Walk to Support Mental Health

First in-person walk since 2019 will promote awareness of mental illness and the need for resources.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – September 22, 2022 – Zinpro Corporation, the world’s leading innovator and manufacturer of high-performance organic trace minerals and animal nutrition solutions, will sponsor the 16th annual NAMIWalks Minnesota, a 5K walk to raise awareness about mental illnesses and celebrate hope, on Saturday, September 24, at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis.

As a company with a global footprint, Eden Prairie-based Zinpro is focused on including its employees around the world in the team effort.

“We care deeply about the total health and wellbeing of our employees, customers and communities, wherever they are around the globe,” said Zinpro President and CEO Rob Sheffer. “As sponsors of the 2022 NAMIWalk, we are proudly encouraging our employees to ‘walk their way,’ in their hometowns around the world, to help create awareness and understanding of the need for support.”

NAMIWalks supports the efforts of NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) to provide education, support and advocacy for children and adults with mental illnesses and their families. The event opens at 11:00 a.m. and runs through 3:00 p.m.

“The Walk brings people together to raise awareness about mental illnesses, to demonstrate that recovery is possible, and to provide hope,” said Sue Abderholden, executive director of NAMI Minnesota. “The pandemic negatively impacted people’s mental health, with the World Health Organization citing a 25% increase in anxiety and depression worldwide. More than ever, employers and our community need to promote good mental health and increase access to mental health treatment.”

The NAMIWalk event will feature picnics and food trucks, speakers, mental health resource tables, a t-shirt contest, a tree of hope, and more.

NAMIWalks is a transformative opportunity in which participants reduce stress, build community, and find local support and services that can make a difference.
