An Unusual Agriculture Path
Growing up outside Houston, Austin Jasek took an unconventional route to his role as Poultry Account Manager for Zinpro®. After being introduced to FFA, he built backyard pens to raise 50 broilers and a dozen turkeys in his suburban neighborhood.
In his senior year, he kept a show steer named Amos in a pasture near his high school. From then on, he knew he wanted to work with animals.
A Focus on Poultry Research
While attending Texas A&M, Austin discovered a deep interest in the science behind poultry nutrition, and an appreciation for the speed of production. With broilers reaching maturity in just 60 days, he could quickly see the impact of making nutritional and management changes.
Working in a poultry research lab reinforced his interest in research and prompted him to pursue a PhD in poultry nutrition.
Leading With Curiosity
Not having a lifelong background with animals has made Austin an active listener. Instead of assuming he knows the answer, he focuses on understanding the full context of a producer’s challenge before offering a solution.
Sometimes that means getting creative. He once worked with a poultry operation that had performance challenges linked to the lighting in their barns. Instead of focusing on nutrition only, Austin worked collaboratively to develop a solution that addressed both nutrition and lighting to help improve performance.
International Networking
Zinpro’s global reach is particularly important to Austin. The ability to pick up the phone and find out how his colleagues overseas are solving problems helps him serve his U.S. customers more effectively.
He also appreciates the international travel opportunities Zinpro has given him, learning from other employees and customers across the world.

Connection & Conversation
Everywhere Austin goes, he wears his Texas A&M ring. It’s not only a reminder of where he’s come from, it sparks connections.
From sales calls to airplanes, when a fellow Aggie sees the ring there’s an instant recognition and common bond, which leads to unexpected conversations and deeper connections.
Making His Own Luck
One of Austin’s favorite song lyrics is “The harder you work, the luckier you get.” He knows that it doesn’t take special talent to show up, work hard, and make a difference. He’s motivated by the ability to help change the direction of someone’s operation or life.
In his newest role as a father, he’s taking this skill to the next level. Austin and his wife are learning every day how to nurture and guide their young daughter to keep her moving in the right direction.
Único. Em sintonia.
Austin’s story is unique, but he’s committed to Zinpro’s shared goal: helping producers bring out the best in their animals.
