Meet Janice Wolfinger,
Focused on Ag’s Future

5 minute read

Diversified Agriculture Roots

Throughout her life, Janice has explored the agriculture industry from just about every angle. Growing up on a diversified farm in southeastern Ohio, Janice showed cattle, raised pigs and grew pumpkins that she sold at a roadside stand. Later, she and her husband bought a feed yard in Nebraska, which they still run today.

From the 7th grade on, Janice knew she wanted to be an ag teacher, nurturing future farmers and ranchers. After graduating from the Ohio State University, she taught high school ag for 16 years and coached FFA and ag sales teams.

Teaching in a New Way

The skills Janice built as an educator easily transfer to her role as an Account Manager for Zinpro®. She jokes that none of her students ever asked, “What do we get to learn today?” It was her job to “sell” them on why they should try to learn what she was teaching, and how it would benefit them in the future.

Today, she teaches customers and their employees what Zinpro can do for their animals and operation. Whether it’s a foot rot training module for ranch employees or explaining complex science in an understandable way, she’s using her skills to teach a new audience.

Protecting Farming’s Future

Janice’s passion is doing her part to protect the future of agriculture. It’s why she still coaches local FFA teams, and why she values Zinpro products so much. She wants ranchers and feedlot owners to remain profitable so that they stay in the industry and hand down their operations to the next generation.

Even outside her job, she’s future-focused. She and her husband are highly involved with show cattle and embryo programs that keep them closely connected to the next generation of cattle genetics.

Winning Together

While she may be competitive, Janice is also a collaborator and a coach. Or in her words, “I want to win, but it doesn’t have to be my win.” Over the years, she has coached state-winning FFA teams and ag sales teams that qualified for national competitions.

Now, she’s proud to work alongside a whole team of people working on “the next best thing” for animals. She’s excited to be a part of the company’s wins by sharing their discoveries and research with her customers.

Keeping the Faith

The rosary that’s usually in Janice’s pocket is relatively new but well-used. The prayer journal she kept for many years became harder to maintain as she spent more hours behind the wheel driving from one feedyard to the next. Instead, she prays the rosary while she drives, seeking guidance, safe travels and success for her customers’ operations.

One of a Kind. Of One Mind.

Janice’s story is unique, but she’s committed to Zinpro’s shared goal: helping producers bring out the best in their animals.

That’s the Zinpro® Effect.
