Jacob Sparkman understands livestock operations from the inside out. Growing up on a family dairy farm gave him firsthand experience with the daily challenges producers face. That background gives him a practical understanding of what it takes to run a successful livestock operation, and how Zinpro® can help.
Today he works with dairy and beef producers across the Southeastern United States, helping them improve animal health and performance through science-backed nutrition solutions.
Lessons From Animals
Jacob traces his love of livestock to a heifer named Black Star, born and raised on the family farm. Black Star helped Jacob earn numerous blue ribbons and championships at county and state fairs – and learn the importance of patience.
Patience came back into play in his animal nutrition education, when he realized that animals don’t read the textbooks, but they’ll find ways to tell you what they need. Jacob works collaboratively with producers to deliver the right nutritional solutions to solve the most unexpected challenges.
His Customers’ First Call
The immortal words of Vince Lombardi capture how Jacob serves producers: “Never settle for second.” In his words, “I want to be the first person my customers call” when they need help solving a problem.
But Jacob’s service continues for the long haul. Every day he carries a small cross given to him after the loss of his mother, a symbol of his faith and the values he brings to his work. The cross travels every mile with him, reminding him to go the extra mile for his customers.
Communication and Community
For more than 17 years, Jacob has coached youth and high school football. With every practice, he has learned to mentor and communicate with the younger generations who represent the future of agriculture.
He is also learning Spanish alongside his son to better communicate with farm employees. This helps him build stronger relationships and ensure the solutions he recommends are clearly understood and successfully implemented.
Science That Delivers Real Impact
