Zinpro Corporation Names Dr. Alex Thompson as Feedlot Key Account Manager

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Feb. 1, 2017 – Zinpro Corporation announces that Alex Thompson, Ph.D., has joined the company as a feedlot key account manager, based in California. In this position, he will provide technical sales support to designated consulting groups and beef cattle feedlot operations throughout the western U.S. 

“I am very pleased that Alex is joining the Zinpro team in our efforts to grow the U.S. confined-cattle feeding business,” says Scott Hirsch, ruminant manager – U.S., Zinpro Corporation. “With his academic background and experience focused on feedlot nutrition, Alex will play an integral part to further develop our feedlot business.” 

Dr. Thompson recently completed his Ph.D. in ruminant nutrition from Texas Tech University, where he also served as a research assistant for four years in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences. In addition to his previous ranch and feedlot practical experience, Dr. Thompson has worked as a nutrition consultant for a beef feedlot consulting firm and as a technician for a dairy data-analysis company. 

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Thompson authored and co-authored 16 journal articles and abstracts. He achieved his master’s degree in ruminant nutrition and muscle biology from Texas Tech University and a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Cal Poly State University.
