Esto puede provocar varios problemas de salud, como la condronecrosis y osteomielitis bacterianas (BCO). Esta afecci\u00f3n se produce cuando las bacterias nocivas presentes en el torrente sangu\u00edneo se asientan en las microfracturas entre los cart\u00edlagos de crecimiento y el cart\u00edlago articular del f\u00e9mur, la tibia y las v\u00e9rtebras tor\u00e1cicas flexibles, provocando microabscesos y necrosis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La BCO es la causa m\u00e1s com\u00fan de cojera en las aves de corral de todo el mundo, especialmente en las manadas que no son tratadas con antibi\u00f3ticos. Las p\u00e9rdidas econ\u00f3micas por BCO oscilan entre 1% y 3% en condiciones normales, o llegan a 10% y 15% en casos extremos, lo que repercute en sacrificios, ralentizaci\u00f3n del crecimiento y condenas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zinpro.com\/es_mx\/lameness-in-poultry-how-much-is-it-costing-your-poultry-operation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">M\u00e1s informaci\u00f3n: BCO en avicultura - \u00bfCu\u00e1nto le est\u00e1 costando a su explotaci\u00f3n?<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las bacterias son los organismos dominantes del mundo, incluso m\u00e1s que los humanos. Muchas especies de bacterias causan la BCO, pero las que se encuentran con m\u00e1s frecuencia son las que resultan familiares tanto a los productores como a los consumidores de aves de corral, entre ellas <em>Enterococcus ssp<\/em>., <em>E. cecorum<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Estafilococo<\/em>&nbsp;spp. y&nbsp;<em>S. agnetis<\/em>&nbsp;entre otros. Existen informes sobre la recuperaci\u00f3n de Salmonella a partir de huesos. Estas bacterias pueden atravesar el tejido epitelial, sobrevivir a las respuestas inflamatorias e inmunitarias y acabar deposit\u00e1ndose en lugares remotos donde la presencia de c\u00e9lulas inmunitarias y fagocitos es limitada, la irrigaci\u00f3n es reducida o el epitelio vascular es d\u00e9bil.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El primer paso para retrasar la aparici\u00f3n y reducir la prevalencia de la OBC en las manadas de aves de corral es mejorar la integridad de la primera l\u00ednea de defensa: el tejido epitelial.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la funci\u00f3n del tejido epitelial?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>En&nbsp;<strong>tejido epitelial<\/strong>&nbsp;recubre el cuerpo por fuera y por dentro de los \u00f3rganos tubulares. Incluye la piel y el revestimiento epitelial en el tracto gastrointestinal, el aparato respiratorio, el aparato reproductor y otros, incluso el endotelio vascular que recubre los vasos sangu\u00edneos. El tejido epitelial es una pared s\u00f3lida con c\u00e9lulas unidas por uniones estrechas. Estas c\u00e9lulas se renuevan continuamente, y algunas de ellas producen moco y componentes secretores protectores. Cuando estas c\u00e9lulas resultan da\u00f1adas por el estr\u00e9s, los par\u00e1sitos o las bacterias, deben ser sustituidas de inmediato para mantener la integridad del epitelio y garantizar que estos par\u00e1sitos no puedan penetrar en el organismo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por lo tanto, estas prote\u00ednas celulares deben sintetizarse continuamente. Si no hay una reserva adecuada de c\u00e9lulas epiteliales nuevas para sustituir inmediatamente a las da\u00f1adas, las bacterias tendr\u00e1n la oportunidad de entrar en el torrente sangu\u00edneo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los oligoelementos, como el zinc, el manganeso y el cobre, son fundamentales para la producci\u00f3n y el mantenimiento de los tejidos epiteliales. Las prote\u00ednas de la uni\u00f3n estrecha, como ZO1, ZO2, claudina y oclusi\u00f3n, requieren zinc para su s\u00edntesis. Para mantener una capa protectora y una estructura celular, las c\u00e9lulas epiteliales contienen una matriz de citoesqueleto compuesta por filamentos de col\u00e1geno y queratina o fibras proteicas estrechamente envueltas. La funci\u00f3n principal de la queratina es hacer de la piel una barrera flexible, insoluble e irreactiva frente al entorno natural. Las aves alimentadas con Availa-ZMC en modelos de suelo de alambre experimentaron una reducci\u00f3n de 29% de la cojera BCO.
