It\u2019s saying this group of\ncattle that were fed Acme Zinc had increased performance. It\u2019s <strong>NOT<\/strong> saying Acme Zinc <strong>caused<\/strong> the increased performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s because Acme Zinc was just one of many\nvariables that impact animal wellness \u2014 along with the cleanliness of the environment, changing health status, cattle\ngenetics, changing of seasons, weather, ration quality, water quality and\navailability, exposure of other diseases, increased or decreased stress and many\nother factors. Therefore, it\u2019s impossible to say with certainty that it was Acme\nZinc that made the difference. Marketers instead use the fallback sentence \u2014 \u201cField\ntrials show increased performance from cattle that were fed Acme Zinc\u201d \u2014 and\nlet the reader infer Acme Zinc made the difference, without saying it. Most of\nthe time the data is not able to be statistically analyzed due to the study\ndesign flaws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peer-reviewed research is a completely\ndifferent story.
