EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., (Dec. 1, 2011) – Zinpro Corporation recently announced the addition of Dr. Jerry Torrison to the Research and Nutritional Services team in the newly created position of Swine Veterinarian. In this position, Dr. Torrison will be responsible for conducting research and providing technical services to pork producers within the United States and internationally. He will also serve as a liaison to the veterinary community and multiple species veterinary associations.
Dr. Torrison earned his doctoral and master’s degrees in veterinary medicine from the University of Minnesota. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from Concordia College (Moorhead, Minn.). He is also a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventative Medicine.
Dr. Torrison spent two years working for a mixed animal practice in Northfield, Minn. He also spent five years working as the health assurance manager for PIC Inc., and six years as a consulting swine veterinarian. Most recently, he worked at the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Minnesota. He has been very active in the Zinpro Corporation Feet First® swine lameness program for the past several years. He is based out of the company’s corporate headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minn.
